Let's talk
Landscape & adventure photography · Brad Burgess
Wild water. First light. Faraway places. Photographs and stories from the moments that stop me in my tracks.
The story behind the name
It began as my wife's wonderfully accurate description of what happens when I get excited: I start talking louder and LOUDER and LOUDER.
Somewhere along the way, the joke became a way of seeing the world. Talking Excitingly is my pursuit of those rare flashes of light, movement and emotion that make quiet observation impossible.
Selected work
From knee-deep mountain streams to city streets after dark, each image is a small record of being fully awake to a place.
Field notes
The final photograph is only part of the story. The wrong turns, freezing fingers, inside jokes and ridiculously early alarms are where the adventure actually lives.

Behind the Nikon
A Southern heart with a wanderlust spirit, and a stubborn willingness to wake up long before sunrise.
I'm an Atlanta-based landscape and adventure photographer with a particular obsession with water: waterfalls, rocky coastlines, quiet lakes, and whatever the weather is doing above them.
Photography is where my love of travel, storytelling and creative experimentation all collide. It has taken me from North Georgia trails to European city streets, Maine schooners and the edges of the North Atlantic, usually with my wife somewhere in the adventure.
Away from the camera, I'm a longtime marketing and corporate real estate leader, an avid lover of the University of Georgia, an Atlanta United supporter, and someone who will always stop to see what is around the next bend.
